The spokesman MTB is a personal blog site that I built so that I may be able to document fun times on my bike. I try to get out as often as I can (not as often as I would like), and I want to create an archive of my adventures. I hope you enjoy your stay!
I was born in what would come to be known as Silicon Valley California. I grew up across the street from a prominent motocross family and we literally played together as kids. Since we lived in suburban San Jose, we weren’t allowed to ride motocross in peoples’ yards, so we rode BMX. We rode it a lot.
I grew up bike commuting (I didn’t get my driver’s license until I was 26 – by choice) and riding for leisure throughout my 20s and 30s. I raced cross country for about a decade and even competed in several 10K races, marathons, and triathlons. I always had my trusty mountain bike in the garage, and it always seemed to be the place I went when I really wanted to get a FUN ride in. So here I am.
I am lucky to have grown up in bicycling’s most prominent era and in a location close to where mountain biking was born. I love to ride, and I have some of the world’s most amazing trails right here in my own backyard. I want to share those locations and experiences with you, the public.
Please leave comments and let me know if there is anything about the site that you like, dislike, or think could use some more work.
