My third trail riding spot on my 2024 road trip. This time, I was headed from Rapid City’s mountain trails over to a place that is a bit less aggressive; Minneapolis, Minnesota. Highways 60 and 169 brought me to the Star of the North where I could jump into the Mall of America to get my iPhone screen fixed. This place is insane!!!
While in town, I called my Cousin Kyle. He has called Minneapolis home for almost two decades. He agreed with my research that if I am going to ride, I should ride in Lebanon Hills. Located just a few miles south of the airport, this park boasts over 2000 acres of access for outdoor enthusiasts with a dense but challenging area set aside for mountain bikes.
Minneapolis is famous for its lakes, but not for its elevation. This system tops out at about 1000 feet above sea level. But they use this land as efficiently as they can, cramming green, blue, and black trails in wherever they fit. And they are pretty fun!
Kyle grabbed his e-bike and we headed out to the trailhead. Who knows what kinds of adventures are ahead!
